We offer specialised mathematics education programs designed to cater to the diverse and multicultural backgrounds of students in Years 7–10. Our curriculum is tailored to promote inclusivity and excellence in math education.
At FMAES , we recognise the unique challenges that students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds face, particularly those with EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect). Many of these students encounter difficulties with foundational mathematical concepts and problem-solving due to the language demands of maths literacy. These difficulties often lead to early disengagement and thus restrict students’ ability to pursue essential subjects like Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, limiting their post-school options and career pathways. Our MathLearn Program is specifically designed to address these challenges through a supportive, evidence-based approach to teaching mathematics for Years 7–10 diverse mathematics students. Our experienced teachers and tutors use strategies tailored to meet each student's unique needs and abilities, with a particular focus on overcoming language barriers in mathematics and related subjects. By integrating literacy support with maths instruction, we aim to build a strong conceptual understanding that underpins success in Mathematics Methods, Specialist Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics or other ATAR subjects requiring proficiency in Mathematics
